About the project
The Brief
The 2023-24 Business Plan for the CCC’s Corporate Services Division featured an initiative to refresh the organisation’s Compliance Training Program.
The last major review of the program occurred in 2021, with some product design remaining unchanged since 2014. All of the modules were laborious ‘click and read’ experiences.
Several products were known to have content errors and functionality issues. In addition, the products did not reflect modern instructional design expectations, represented poor learning value and encouraged negative perceptions around eLearning generally.

The Solution
Having performed numerous refresh projects during my career, I was asked to deliver the project. As Project Manager, I contributed not only instructional design leadership, but also led stakeholder engagement and governance activities.
I developed a Project Plan that outlined the entire refresh process, including an evaluation methodology. Products were scoped and prioritised in consultation with Content Owners and the Project Executive.
Some Content Owners initially struggled to see how their content could be presented as anything other than ‘bland’, so I invested significant effort in showcasing what a refresh/redesign could bring to their products. The response was very positive.
This large scale project has transformed how the CCC views ‘eLearning’ and its’ value in building capability across the organisation.

Testimonials
I had no idea we could do stuff like this. It’s SO much better than the crap we’ve been making people do. I’ve been waiting 12 years for you!
