About the project
The Brief
The 2024-25 Business Plan for the CCC’s Corporate Services Division featured an initiative to gain formal recognition for the CCC’s investment in Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) and to broaden the MHFA offering beyond the standard 2-day course.
Due to the sensitive nature of its’ operations, the CCC requires an internal resource to deliver this program, and I was selected to attend instructor training and given the responsibility of delivering the courses to staff as part of the corporate learning calendar.

The Solution
I successfully completed instructor training in August 2024 and commenced delivering the
standard 2-day course in October 2024.
I subsequently undertook additional instructor credentialling, enabling me to broaden the CCC’s MHFA program to 5 course offerings:

- Standard MHFA (2-day course)
- Standard MHFA Refresher
- Conversations about Gambling
- Conversations about Suicide
- Conversations about Non-Suicidal Self-Injury
I successfully delivered 13 individual courses during 2024-25, growing the CCC’s cohort of accredited MHFAiders to 45 staff members (13% of the workforce).
I also led the project that resulted in the CCC achieving Tier 1 ‘Skilled Workplace’ recognition from MHFA International.
