About the project
The Brief
Unitywater engages Contract Partners to support service delivery on its network. These partners include major contractors like Downer, Aurecon and AECOM as well as smaller organisations providing specialist maintenance services.
From a safety perspective, there is no separation in requirements between a Contract Partner and a Unitywater team member.
Unitywater provides a range of eLearning modules to Contract Partners, including a general induction. In early 2026, the general induction was recognised as an outdated product, in need of a content overhaul and a visual design refresh.

The Solution
Building on the relationship established with the Safety team during an earlier project, I partnered with the Content Owner to 'bring the content to life' using Articulate Rise.
This involved translating a 9,500 word document into a storyboard that made sense to a typical end user. Content was then presented in a fresh, bright and visually coherent product, with a new (for Unitywater) focus on accessible design.
As an advocate for building team capability with every solution, I incorporated previously unused features of Articulate Rise (e.g. custom blocks) as well as CSS to take the product beyond 'default Rise'.
