About the project
The Brief
AMEC’s environment team undertook a project for the Ipswich Rivers Trust (IRT) to create a set of soil guidelines for field personnel working in the Ipswich region of Queensland.
The IRT had specific requirements for how the guidelines had to ‘feel’ - which was “clean and functional, and not too arty”.
The AMEC project manager subcontracted me to develop the guidelines document using technical inputs provided by AMEC’s environmental team.

The Solution
Several months of development and review was required for this project. Multiple stakeholders provided technical input and feedback, which had to be incorporated into the final product.
I produced an initial set of concept layouts that were reviewed at a workshop involving AMEC and the Ipswich Rivers Trust. After the review, technical content in the form of raw text was progressively provided to me so that I could construct the main document over a period of time.
The final product was a 53 page document, printed on durable waterproof stock to cater for field conditions.
