Fatigue Management Guidebook

Fatigue is a sensitive topic in the RFDS nursing community and is subject to a range of management practices that were not clearly presented in a single reference document.

I was engaged by the Chief Nursing Officer to consolidate a range of reference information (procedures, presentations etc) into a single, practical document for nurses.

I developed a guidebook that not only clarified rostering limitations and duty times, but also provided nurses with practical guidance in managing their own fatigue.

A considerable amount of cross-checking was required as reference information was provided across multiple - often, conflicting - sources.
